Seller/buyer protections - what about scammers?

Not sure if I replied yet to this already but no there is no mistake. If there was , the least he or she can do is lie about sending it and etc. This person blocked me completely after I confronted them.

I am no using my other account and I contacted this person and I asked them if the iPhone 7 is available.. they said yes...and they want payment thru cashapp or Western Union which are payments outside of OfferUp...she or he is already trying to scam people right after me😂 hah.

Can anyone believe this?? I will do any thing to prove that I literally was scammed! Have the FBI search my house for that iPhone cuz in the end if they do happen to find one, problem solved...sadly that won't happen

I did... still waiting for their response. The user is trying to scam again...I'm on my other account and asked them "do you have any iPhone 7 available?" And he or she gave me the same as lies like "yes I do it's unlocked 128 gb and flawless condition" and he or she wants me to pay thru Western Union it cashapp...I have more than enough information to prove that I've been scammed...u just want my $ back asap...I need a phone and not a book and an empty box

UPDATE* After revealing finally who I was on my other account...the scammer knew he or she got caught and now deleted her account or the app. Every time I try to visit her/his page it's gone and it shows an error code.....this is more than enough evidence that my money was taken and they are trying to make a run for it

@DionAbril please continue to be patient and wait for a response from the Customer Care team. Unfortunately, I don't have the same tools that they have to assist. If you have filed a buyer protection claim, you will get a response. 

 

I can assure you that I have already escalated this to our Payments team. They are on it, and will reach out ASAP.

thank you so very much! I love this app so much but the people here who scam make it feel unwelcoming. Thats why im grateful for buyer protection and the forums for answers and solutions. Thank you

yes...but....i checked my credit card account and it show it will take up to 6-8 weeks to complete and return my funds back to my card...while offer up said "You’ll see the refund of the original purchase price, including shipping within a few days, back to your original payment method." sooo i hope i wont have to be waiting soooo long just to recieve a pending refund....i know for sure ebay and others take less than a week to get this done. Can you clarify this?

I contacted OfferUp for buyer protection on Wednesday 5/9/18 about an item that I received to me that day and no one has contacted me since then. And now it’s going to be past the 3 day mark.
